I am a drummer and composer living in Kanagawa Prefecture.
The first time I worked with Eitan, the engineer of Clear Echo, was at the famous Aobadai Studio. It was a request from an American pianist for background music for a kind of radio drama based on a picture book.
It was a tough job, with all kinds of players changing one after another, from saxophone, bassoon, electric bass, guitar, drums, harp, and chorus, but I was impressed by the "clear" sound of the recording, as the name implies, and the excellent turnaround time.
The resulting mix and mastering were exquisitely balanced.
I could tell that, being half American and half Israeli, he had more respect, understanding, and love for all musical genres than most people.
I then asked him to produce some of my own surroundings and he gave me some work as well.
I believe that a good engineer is one who makes the client feel comfortable with the production, understands the music they are imagining, and communicates well.
If you have him help you with production, you will definitely arrive at a good product.
Also, you should have him make your cables himself. He can make good sounding cables with his solid knowledge and skills, so you might want to consult with him.

Eitan at Clear Echo Sound brought more to this project than I could have imagined or hoped for.
It starts with the technical skill. He's a master of sound--The guy built much of the equipment he uses! But Eitan is also an incredible artist and talent himself, and so he was able to add an element to the recording process that went far beyond the technical side.
He was, in essence, an artistic partner, adding--but never more than appropriate--to the meaning and impact of the piece on which we were working. His voice work and the attention to detail in the recording and editing brought my story to life in a way I never could have accomplished on my own or with someone who was just a sound expert.
When you add to that the commitment to communication--Eitan is a quick, thorough, and engaged correspondent--as well as Eitan's calm, positive presence and genuine goodness as a person, you have everything you could need or want on a project.

Clear Echo has provided me and my label with invaluable support over the past few years. Starting with quality cables made perfectly to spec for live shows all the way to mastering the original motion picture soundtrack for the film “Matcha & Vanilla” the sound was always pristine and clear.
But more than that I found Eitan to be invaluable as a teacher. He was able to guide me to do the tricks in mixing and mastering that before had seemed impossible. He is a very patient teacher and was able to teach me how to “listen” in an entirely different way than I thought I could before. That the basic principles of EQ and compression always seemed to be a mystery before I could see in real time just how much the sound can change. Use the tools with a little guidance and slowly but surely I began to hear the problems I couldn’t before.
For me I am most definitely a visual learner that does better with person to person teaching (much better than just watching a YouTube tutorial) so learning to hear it the right way was huge in improving the sound of everything I do. The money I invested in Clear Echo to help with my overall sound and vision in music was worth every penny.

I'm extremely happy with the product. I was a little suspicious of the unconventional miking technique at first, but it's some of the best recording of my sound that I've ever heard, and live to boot!
The blend with piano is fantastic, and your turnaround time was great. Plus, you were very attentive to detail and the needs of the client. To me that type of communication is first-rate in an engineer, and in fact more important than the quality of the work sometimes... but in this case, neither are in question.

Working with Eitan on Starlight Serenade was a wonderful experience through-and-through. He was helpful and professional, and gave us a far better result than we ever expected.
After all, we recorded in a bar, with an audience, a noisy refrigerator, and drinks being mixed and served throughout-- and yet the recording sounds crystal-clear, as clean as a studio or a concert hall, and warm and alive to boot.
Due to the layout, we had to put Eitan and his gear in a place that the audience could easily see him work. This could have been distracting, but he actually helped to warm up the crowd! He was an integral part of the night's magic, and then the mix he gave us afterwards knocked my socks off. I would absolutely, and without reservation, recommend his services to anyone.

Eitan's mix left me with great peace of mind. From the sound of the mix it was clear that Eitan listened carefully to the image of our song and arranged it in a way that was true to the image of the song. I thought it was wonderful not only to retain the image, but also to preserve a sound that is alive, so that the player's breath would not be lost. As the vocalist, I was especially happy to be able to feel the breathing between phrases.
